The Del Ray Farmers’ Market is a food and plant-based market located in the heart of one of Alexandria, Virginia’s most vibrant and diverse neighborhoods. During the peak season, there are more than 20 farmers and vendors offering fruits and vegetables, meat, poultry, fish, eggs, cheeses, breads, fresh pasta, baked goods and cut flowers.
In 2022 and 2023, the Del Ray Farmers Market offered an exciting “Power of Produce” (POP) Club to engage families with children between the ages of 4-12. For each of the weeks we offer the POP Club, children between the ages of 4 and 12 attending the market receive a $5 voucher that they can redeem at the market for fresh fruits and vegetables.
What will be new in 2024 is that we will invite Del Ray restaurant chefs to the market for cooking demonstrations oriented around seasonal fruits and vegetables available at the market. The strengthen the bonds between the market and Del Ray’s local businesses by allowing the chefs to describe their restaurant directly to Del Ray residents!
