Huntingdon Farmers' Market

About This Market

The Huntingdon Farmers’ Market is located at Portstown Park and is open from May until October, every Thursday from 11:00 to 3:00 PM.

The Huntingdon farmers market has a long tradition of connecting Huntingdon with local farmers, bakers and producers. The inception of the market was spearheaded by James Pingry of Hemmabast Farm and Tony Ricci and Rebecca Smith of Green Heron Farm. This original market was located on Washington Street in front of PNC bank and later moved nearby to 5th Street between Mifflin and Washington.

Much later in 2007 and after a hiatus from farming, James Pingry channeled his energy into re-creating the market in Portstown Park to once again bring local food and products back to the Huntingdon community. Since then, it has grown to offer a variety of fruits, organic and non-organic vegetables, baked goods, eggs, meat, hot foods and even locally produced soaps, wool and wine!

Today, the market consists of 11 core vendors, providing local homegrown produce, baked goods, wool, eggs, meats, honey, wine, kombucha, soaps, and hot food items.
