Find the fresh, local food all year long at ASAP's Asheville City Market, downtown on N. Market Street every Saturday.

ASAP opened Asheville City Market in 2008 to provide more opportunities for farmers, particularly those unable to access existing market options. The market also serves as a learning lab for ASAP to pilot new programs that can be replicated at other markets. The market opened on Charlotte Street before moving to North Market Street in 2017. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the market operated as ASAP Farmers Market on A-B Tech’s campus. We returned downtown at the start of the 2022 season.

Asheville City Market is a producer-only market, which means that all farm vendors grow or raise the products they are selling themselves. For non-farm vendors (such as prepared food, seafood, coffee), preference is given to products and foods prepared or processed locally or made with locally sourced ingredients.

Interesting Facts

Asheville City Market offers Double SNAP for Fruits and Vegetable. Market tokens do not expire and can be used on future visits.
