About This Market

Cook's Market at Rutgers Gardens is a farmers market offering fresh, locally grown, and handmade products. It operates rain or shine on Fridays from 11am-3pm until December 13, 2024.

Cook’s Market is located at the entrance to Rutgers Gardens and operates rain or shine on Fridays from 11am-3pm until December 13, 2024.

The Rutgers Gardens Farmers Market began as a student-led project. More than a decade later, the market moved into its new home, Cook’s Market. Today the market features a wide variety of vendors, including the Rutgers Gardens Student Farm, which demonstrates land stewardship by practicing sustainable growing practices and providing our communities with quality, nutritious food. The market offers fresh, locally grown and made-with-love products such as fruits and vegetables from New Jersey farms, sourdough breads, sweet and savory treats, honeys and maple syrups, craft spirits, artisanal mushrooms, grassfed meats and brown eggs, live plants from the Rutgers Gardens greenhouse, cut flowers and floral arrangements, pickles and marinated vegetables, ready-to-eat foods, hot sauces and jams, and much more.

Interesting Facts

The market began as a student-led project and now resides in a permanent structure called Cook's Market. The market also supports SNAP, Good Food Bucks, WIC and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program benefits, and Market Bucks for Rutgers students.
