The St. Joseph Farmers’ Market is celebrating its 25th year in 2025! The market runs Fridays from May 9 through October 17, from 3 to 6 pm, and features 28-30 producers and artisans. You can find the market at the Lake Wobegon Trailhead in the Resurrection Lutheran Church parking lot on County Road 2 in St. Joseph.
In addition to the regular Friday market, there will be a special Farmers' Market Day from 12-3pm on Sunday, June 8, as part of the Joetown Blocks event in downtown St. Joseph, on the corner of College Ave and Minnesota Street. There will be speakers, a proclamation and recognition of people who have made the St. Joseph Farmers' Market what it is over the years.
Each Friday, there is entertainment — music, kids’ crafts, and sometimes magic. There are also special activities like Dairy Princesses, demonstrations on pickling, canning, and freezing, 4-H Clubs, and cornhusk doll making. The market celebrates National Farmers’ Market Week in August.
The market also hands out 50 coupons ($2 each) each week to children and senior citizens, made possible by donations from the small business community. These coupons increase access to local foods, foster a fun environment to eat healthy, and financially support local producers. The market participates in the Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program, providing fresh vegetables, fruits and herbs to Women, Infants & Children (WIC) participants and low-income seniors, and offers Market Bucks, which match SNAP/EBT dollar-for-dollar up to $10.
