The historic French Market in New Orleans, dating back to 1791, offers a variety of shops, restaurants, and market vendors.

Since 1791, the historic French Market has remained an enduring symbol of pride and progress for the people of New Orleans. In over 200 years of existence, the Market has been built, destroyed, and rebuilt many times over, but what remains unchanged is the Market’s central spirit of commerce, community, and culture that is irresistible to visitors from near and far. The French Market District is comprised of the shops of the Upper Pontalba, shops of the Colonnade, the Craft Bazaar, the Farmers & Flea Markets, Oscar Dunn Park, the Moon Walk, and Crescent Park. Operations at the world-famous French Market includes our Flea Market featuring daily vendors open till 5pm and our Farmers Market with eateries and café style seating open till 6pm.
