61st Street Farmers Market

About This Market

The 61st Street Farmers Market, launched in 2008 by the Experimental Station, increases access to fresh and healthy food for residents in Chicago’s Woodlawn and surrounding neighborhoods. It operates both outdoors and indoors, offering a variety of produce and other goods.

The 61st Street Farmers Market brings fresh, healthy foods to historically underserved Woodlawn and surrounding neighborhoods. By reducing barriers to accessing farm-fresh food, we are building a thriving local food community that supports Midwest growers, educates consumers, and is available to all. The market was launched in 2008 with the help of volunteers.
