Year-round farmers market at the Carter Center in Atlanta, offering local, organic, and sustainably grown products.
Freedom Farmers Market at the Carter Center was formed in 2014 by a small group of Georgia farmers with one vision: bring local, sustainably grown food to intown Atlanta neighborhoods.
The market, now open year-round, offers a wide range of organic, local products including: fresh produce, grass fed meats, dairy including cheeses, yogurt, milk, farm fresh eggs, handmade baked goods and preserves, coffee and more. Each market Year Round features live music and a local chef with hot prepared foods. The market also holds monthly events featuring the fruit or vegetable of the season and monthly chef demos.
The market’s name, Freedom, has a double meaning. It’s located steps away from the Freedom Park Trail. It also represents a sense of independence—for shoppers, and also for farmers, who manage the market through an independent board.
Accessibility is an important goal of Freedom Farmers Market. Neighbors can reach the market by walking or biking, riding MARTA, or driving. FFM partners with Wholesome Wave Georgia in the Georgia Fresh 4 Less program which allows us to double SNAP dollars our shoppers spend. The diverse communities surrounding the Carter Center makes Freedom Farmers Market a place to gather with familiar friends and meet new ones.
The market is run by its farmers, is open year-round, and doubles SNAP dollars through the Georgia Fresh 4 Less program. It's located steps away from the Freedom Park Trail and features live music and local chefs.
